I don't with one exception!
Most murders are crimes of passion, and murderer's, even if they got out of jail, have the least recidivism of all crimes!
I can't support killing someone, even if they did!
My ONE exception would be those who are psychopaths, who feel no remorse or guilt! They are as dangerous in prison as they are out of prison!

There are some crimes that are committed in such a heinous fashion that anything less then the death penalty would seriously deprecate the nature of the crime - An example of a case I have worked on: Two drug dealers break into a relatives home to steal drugs/cash at a time when they believe noone is home. Turns out, two children are in the home. The drug dealers kill the children because they don't want to leave witnesses. When 911 arrived on the scene, the 5 year girl was found face down on the bed with her hand on the phone and her neck slit from ear to ear. Her 7 year old brother was still alive, neck slit and in the bathtub full of water where the dealers attempted to drown him when he didn't die immediately. The emt who jumped in the bathtub attempting to save him suffered severe burns to her legs from the scalding hot water. I have seen those crime scene photos, the death penalty was totally warranted.

I am not against the death penalty, cause i feel that a couple years rotting in jail followed by execution is about what these animals deserve, at the least. 99% of these criminals are of no use to society, they are a dime a dozen, and more trouble than they are worth. This is true of most of the human race in my opinion, so you had better watch out if you feel you can break societys laws with impunity. Unless you are a certified genius, the world would be better off without you.

I have two thoughts on this:
1. DP is good because it takes out the bad apples from the barrel.
2. If DP advocates want it abolished that badly, then release Death Row convicts to the advocates' care. They should be responsible for them 24/7. Everyone in the advocates' neighborhood is bound to sleep well... especially the anti-DP'ers.

although I live in Canada I, and a majority of other Canadians, support the death penalty simply because there are people in this world who are just to evil to live. Osama bin Laden is an excelent example of a person who needs to die.

The death penalty is good but we don't be fair in our system to make sure everyone gets a fair trial so because of that reason i would vote against it even thou I know it would be best to have the death penalty..

Death is the easy way out. I think they should be tortured by the families of the victim. Thats how they will learn their lesson.
Plus, whats the point of having someone sit on death row for 10 years knowing their guilty. Just wasting money. Kill 'em if youre going to kill 'em. Dont just put em in jail.

I not only support the death penalty, but I think the perpetrator should die the same way they murdered their victim.
Read you "Bible', "an eye for an eye".
I believe if these people knew they were going to die the same way they murdered their victim, it might scare them enough to not commit the crime, period. Makes sense doesn't it.
But if you baby, pamper, and feel sorry for them
make up all kinds of excuses for them.......I think that will make them want to commit a crime......you gotta be strict.

Without a punishment that threatens a reciprocal outcome for someone who commits grievous crimes (murder, rape, treason), criminals will always know that they can literally get away with murder (at least once) without any repercussions other than a dry bed, three squares a day and like minded neighbors (isn't that like summer camp?) for the rest of their lives.
Of course, this person in California will go on parole in 12 years so that he has at least one more opportunity to commit his crimes.....

i do no longer help the lack of life penalty because we, as human beings, are unable to devise a way of adminstration from accusation by ability of punishment, it truly is loose from bias and mistake. the finished procedure, consisting of the prosecutor's determination of who's subject to the penalty, by ability of jury decision, trial, appeals and very last infliction of the punishment is so tarnished by technique of human frailties with the intention to render it unacceptable in my opinion.

I think that offenders of the law should be punished by the way that they have offended.
If someone were to murder somebody with a tire iron, then such punishment should follow: beat them until they are dead with a tire iron. Then they know how it feels right before they die.
