Does ticketmaster mark-up the face value of the tickets? Does the service charge all go into ticketmaster's pockets?

Ticketmaster is just one ticket outlet that rips people off.bob seger is comming to the twin cities and is charging $60 for all tickets not to bad for bob.barbara Streisand is charging $1,000 for her tickets,not that anyone in their right mind would pay that but im sure there are alot of stupid people that will......how many millions of dollars do these damn singers need?

It's a total rip ain't it!?!?!? The service charge goes in their pocket... The ticket price stays the same regardless of the amount of service charges... So you could be buying a 10.00 dollar ticket but you'll still pay 8 bucks in service charges!

They do charge a fee to sell you the tickets you want, you may also want to consider checking either eBay or yahoo auctions. Earlier this year I bought some very hard to get 5th row seats to the Soul 2 Soul tour of Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. Just something to think about.

The service charge goes to them...thats how they make a buck ! if you buy online also check out the shipping and handling fees if you don't print out your own ticket.

Just today bought Aerosmith / Motley Crue tickets from ticketmaster.
Tickets -------------------------- $149.50
service fee --------------------------- 9.75
convenience charge ------------- 2.00
order processing fee ------------ 2.50
