Baked goods sell the best. Every one eats and home made is still the best.
The "Pie Lady" at our farmer's Market would sell $700.00 worth in four hours, on a slow day.
She would make arrangements with the guy who sold fruit and always got a good deal from him, so I think she made a real good profit.
I sold handy crafts and made way less than her, but I loved going there just to meet the people, both customers and vendors.
It was a blast, and I learned lots.

What's selling the best really depends on what part of the country you're in. People have gotten away from the really "cutesy" crafts though. As for food, something more kid friendly would be ideal. Perhaps cookies, as long as you print all of you ingredients for the public to see in case they may have an allergy. I would probably suggest one of a kind candy. That's something you usually only get to see in catalogs and at the holidays. Good Luck in you craft quest.

If you're looking for ideas to sell at a craft show then ornaments usually sell well. They have to be well done and original though. As far as baked goods it's against the law unless you have a health certificate for your home kitchen.

Personally I find ear rings and necklaces made from polymer clay great fun to make and attractive items to sell at craft shows. Polymer clay is easy to deal with, and it sets your creative juices flowing. I have spent many hours toying with polymer clay, and I come up with creations that impress my family and friends.

Since polymer clay is inedible, you do not need to worry about hygiene issues like when you sell food. Cooking is fun too, but I certainly do not want to be unlucky enough to cause my patrons to suffer from food poisoning.
