I went to a nutritionist and ate right and after 6 months they went from 431 to 180. It's about a proper diet unless you need medication. You really can't know how little people know about eating right until you see a nutritionist. Meanwhile cut down on animal fats.

HOLY COW, you must eat tons and tons of sweets and possibly drink alcohol a lot, or you are obese and out of shape. Here is a web site devoted to this subject:
http://www.all-about-lowering-cholesterol.com/diet-to-lower-triglycerides.html
In it, they write...
ELIMINATE or LIMIT ALL sugars such as, concentrated sweets, sugar, honey, molasses, jams, jellies, candies, pies, cakes, cookies, candy, doughnuts, ice cream, frozen yogurt, and sweetened gelatine.
Eliminate or limit as much as you can acohol, such as beer, wine, hard liquor, liqueurs as well as other foods, like sweetened cereals, flavored yogurts, and sports or energy bars.
Cut down on red meat, especially fried, changing it to broiled or roasted poultry (turkey, chicken), preferably free-range. Add more dark green leafy vegetables.
Be aware of the dangers of high triglyceride levels:
http://atorvastatin.be/Causes-of-High-Triglycerides/Dangers-of-high-triglycerides.html
you may be on the verge of diabetes, stroke, or....?

Fish oil capsules work as well or better than any prescription drug for this. Take 2 capsules with each meal and work up to 12 capsules a day if necessary (4 with each meal).

Eat oatmeal for breakfast, use extra virgin olive oil to cook, exercise more, and drink lots of water. Decrease your fat and red meat intake.
