When I make speghetti I like to put jalepeno tabasco sauce in it to give it a little flair. Whenever I do this my kids refuse to eat it and then I have a big left over pot of food. I don't want to waste it because that cost money. So, I try to feed it to them as left over the next day. But, they complain that it is too hot! I'm so tired of having left over speghetti for the 3rd night in a row. What can I do?

I don't want to get the extra pot dirty and I don't know how much to put into just one bowl. Why do they have to be so impossible?

Take a portion of sauce that you will eat and add Tabasco sauce to it. Leave the rest plain for the kids.
**After reading the additional comments the questioner posted, it's obvious this person is not looking for an answer but rather is trying to make a statement. This is not a genuine question. You don't want to dirty another pot and don't know how much to put in a bowl for a single serving?! Oh, please. Find something productive to do.

Before you put the jalepeno sauce in the spaghetti sauce, seperate some out and keep it aside for your children so they do not have to eat spicy spaghetti sauce. I don't know how old your children are but small children's mouths are ALOT more sensitive than adults mouths, so something that may not be hot and taste good to you, may seem like they are eating the HOTTEST pepper in the world.

Kids are sensitive to a lot of spices that adults love. Like the other person said, put it in your own bowl instead of trying to force your kids to eat it.
I am just wondering if you have to ask someone here about how often to change your underwear, cause the kids sound smarter than you.
Then you add you don't want the extra pot....what kind of mother are you anyway?

I was think your kids are...children. If it's too hot then you should think about not making it...hot. I don't think they are trying to be mean but their bodies can't handle the flair tabasco sauce. It just going to keep bringing you stress when you can't get them to eat what they say they can't. Dont' stress yourself out. Shoot, kids LIKE spaghetti, if you calm yours down maybe with bbq sauce instead of HOT SAUCE they will make you happy with full bellies and less leftovers.

Make the entire pot of sauce plain. When you put sauce on your own plate of spaghetti, then cover it in hot sauce only on yours. Why make everyone else in your family suffer? My husband likes spicy food, but my kids won't eat it. So he adds his spice when it's on his plate.

Split it when you are done and put the tabasco in yours only. I do this for my daughter all the time. She will eat some stuff that I like but others she can't.

well most kids dont like spicy foods, make the spagetti without the hot sauce and then add it to your own seperately.Being a parent means making a sacrifice for your kids, this seems like a small one to make and actually i cant believe you didnt think of this on your own.Dont use the hot sauce in theirs!!!

People say that kid's digestive systems are too sensitive for hot and spicy foods, but between you and me I think that's a bunch of crap. I'm sure you're toughening them up and preparing them for the real world, and you're teaching them to skip meals - I don't think you'll have any problem with weight! Good job!
