Right click on the My Computer icon on desktop.

To your left, in the panel that opens, you can see Control Panel.

In Control Panel at Performance and Maintenance, to the left, You can see System Restore.

Open My Computer...
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Restore The exe file is rstrui.exe Follow the folders. If you get a prompt for "These Folders are Hidden...", roll right through it. You can even paste what I gave into ANY address bar and it will take you right to it.

Watch the folders and don't open "system", Open "system32".

well if you are able to get to my computer then click on it. then goto your C drive and click on documents and settings. Then click on all users. Then click on start menu, find accessories and then clikc sytem tools. System restore should be in there.

If you dont care about any of your files, you can try to just re-install your windows disk. if you need to call Microsoft because the access key won't work, just tell them you need another one because you had to restore your PC. I've have to do it a few times.

Right click on MY COMPUTER, then you Explore, You will see the control panel.. or got through the help menu,,, they always have links!!

a last case resort to running anything is ctrl alt delete and then click file--new task, and then try to type in the name of the file or program
