I think that is true if you look at the world series ratings historically they are always much higher when a ny team plays in the series. Agree or disagree?

I would agree. People seem to either love or hate the NY teams, and therefore have an interest.

The only reason people wanted to see Detroit make it is to see if there would be riots again if by some miracle a team that could get swept by the worst team in baseball when the pressure is on in the last weekend of the series with their division on the line could actually win it.

Sadly they will fold like a house of cards in the World Series anyway.

Anyway, yes it would be bad for baseball. Good for baseball would have been the best two teams, if it's the Cards and Tigers we don't get that even in the slightest.

Who knows maybe the classless Tiger fans will riot anyway, win or lose. Even though lose is more like it.

Hey Vertical, why don't you take out your crying somewhere else. You know your pathetic Mets will get destroyed by 4 pitchers that will eat up your lineup.

You talk a bunch of weak smack about how the Mets have a great lineup. Ooooh, obviously the Tigers are scared as they already rolled through a supposed great lineup in your neighbors.

And then you attempt to talk about a "classless city." Really, classless? Hmmm, seems to describe you to a T. You never hear anyone say they wish something horrible to happen to NYC because people from NYC seem to think their $h!+ dont stink. Guess what, people only feel sorry for you for 9/11, but year in and year out, you prove to be the classless ones while your beloved city attempts to buy something they can't earn.

Whether or not your team is able to advance from the AAAACS is irrelevant. The Mets/Cards will lose and it will be as embarassing as it was last year for the Astros and the Cards in '04.

No it's good. Obviously NY teams do well with the ratings cos of the pop. there but the Tigers and Cardinals are two storied franchises with fans all over the country. Plus it would just be cool to see La Russa and Leyland go head-to-head.

I think it is good for baseball. If the same teams always play, then Texas Rangers fans like me won't be as interested in the playoffs and the Series. Having different teams each other makes it more interesting, especially for the home crowd. It helps make each team's fan base stronger.

Who cares about the ratings?

A Detroit/St Louis World Series would be classic.

History is on thier side.

Detroit and St. Louis have faced off 2 times in the fall classic, with team getting the series.

i'm a yankee fan and feel bad for another letdown after an excellent season...but a cinderella story is tough to resist...any time a team that finishes a season only 4 games above .500 gets a chance to win it all makes for a tremendous story....the ratings may be down but if the cards pull it off i think the interest will be there in the end....but i think its time for derek jeter's lament that "the best team doesnt always win" to be proven false....lets hope next year things get resolved the way it should be

Disagree.
Maybe other years but not this year.
Eveyone wants to see if the Tigers - a team no one ever expected to even make the playoffs - could go all the way to the WS and actually win it.
It's a Sweetheart" story and just makes most people want to root for them.
It doesn't matter who the opponent is,
most will watch because of the Tigers.

Disagree with that. NY has the highest market in the States. That is a big reason why. Plus, Choke is the offical soft drink of the Yankees.

Unless my team is in the World Series I don't watch at all if there is a New York or California team is in it. They get all the publcity and it stinks.

GO TIGERS!
