f(-1) = 4*(-1) - 3 = -4 - 3 = - 7

If I'm not mistaken,

if f(x)=4x - 3
then f(-1)=4(-1) - 3
or

f(-1)= -4 - 3
f(-1)= -7

like they said...just substitute the -1 where you see the x.
