Even though we were gaining civil rights for minorities in the 1960's many were still discriminated against. But the group of people who were discriminated against the most were the Blacks!

same as today.
pretty much everyone was discriminated against by someone.
the white anglo-saxon guys (read: not anyone of Irish, Catholic, Jewish, Russian, German, Scottish, Polish, Italian, etc. descent. they were all discriminated against too). the white anglo-saxon guys even got discriminated on- because everybody assumed they were all really prejudiced. but truth was (same as today), some were and some weren't.
i think the only difference between now and then is that back then, the super prejudiced people could get away with flaunting their views. today, there aren't any less people out there who are prejudiced. but today, these people usually try to hide their views in order to avoid scrutiny.

This is a great site to answer your question. Its a timeline of the 1960's. There were so many things happening that it would be hard to give you one answer.
