Is James Baker's study of Iraq the last straw in the camel's back? I doubt it.

Will wiser counsel prevail? I doubt it.

Whatever the results of the Baker study, they will be pushed, pulled, twisted, spun, reamed, steamed and dry-cleaned to make the chimpies look brilliant and Bushbots will give him a standing ovation.

We can only hope so...because for the sake of our troops and the Iraqi people the "stay the course" approach is a recipe for disaster.

But I doubt if George W Bush will listen to James Baker. I mean, what the hell does he know, right? He was only one of the most respected Secretaries of State in the history of the US.

The only people that can tell George to change his ways are Barney and Laura...

Wiser counsel has been available from the onset, Bush ignores anything but what he wants to hear, and what he wants to hear is that everything is going exactly the way he wishes, and that he is incapable of error. That was the basis of his actions for his entire first term, and we re-elected him so that he could keep it up. Why would he change a winning game?
