Half life is the time required for a radioactive sample to reduce its activivy to the half.
So, 50.4/5.6 = the number of half lives of Mn-52.
Then, (100)/2=50g left to the first half life.
So: divide 100g times the number of half lives and you'll get the remainder of Mn-52.

If a substance has a half-life of x days, then after nx days, 2^(-n) or 1/2^n of it is left, because in each x days, the substance loses half of what is left. The substance has past n half-days. So after y days (that's y/x * x days), 2^(-y/x) is left. So after 50.4 days, 2^(-50.4/5.6) of it is left. That's 2^(-9) = 0.001953125. Since you have 100 grams, 0.1953125 gram would be left, or maybe 0.195 g if you round it to 3 decimals.

Hi. After 1 half life about half (1/2) on the original atoms would still be in their original form. After 2 half lives about a quarter (1/4) would still exist. 3 (1/8), 4 (1/16), etc.

obviously after 50.4 days, 9 half lives have passed.
that means that we cut the original value in half 9 times
1) 50
2)25
3) 12.5
4)6.25
5)3.125
6)1.5625
7).78125
8).390625
9).1953125
all of those are in grams

Okay so nine half lives have past.
0 days 100g
5.6 days 50g
11.2 days 25g
16.8 days 12.5g
22.4 days 6.25g
28 days 3.125g
33.6 days 1.5625g
39.2 days 0.78125g
44.8 days 0.390625g
50.4 days 0.1953125g (0.195g)
Hope that helps.
