LOL. Well that really depends on the work environment. Is it a super professional environment? Business suits and such? Or is it more laid back? I'd say if you work in a suit and tie place, don't dress up. But if there's a more laid back attitude, if Halloween decor is present, your boss is easy going. Go for it. But bring a change of clothes, just in case.

Depends on upper mangement and their "policies"
If you have an important client meeting. Then you might not want to.
Course, you could do it and just bring a change of clothes.
But it really depends on your relation with your boss and if your engineering group is like IBM of the 60's and 70's (wearing white shirt and tie) or more expressive like Team Apple of the 80's.

Yes. Because it is a work environment and you should dress appropriately for work. If you want to dress like a vampire, you should take a vacation day and go to a party dressing like a vampire.

Well since I love Halloween, I wouldn't say anything except a compliment if your costume was good. But I'm not your boss of course. Check with him first to see if you can wear a costume to work.

A real mature person we hired. Just the type we'd like to promote to VP some time soon...

What would you say, roles reversed, Sparky?
Especially if the company is fighting for profitability. What image are you projecting about yourself?
Is it one of integrity, dedication, reliability?

Quit trying to shoot yourself in the foot.

I personally would love it, but then I love halloween, its very hard to say what your boss will do though, maybe ask him ahead of time if its ok.
