I am breastfeeding so that may be why, but when should I expect it to start having a cycle again?

i have heard of breast feeding women who keep breastfeeding going as long as 18 months or more with out a period. you could try one of the many on-line mothering boards about breastfeeding and see what other women are experiencing in your position.

Your situation is very normal, and breastfeeding is great for many reasons... keep it up till you are ready to wean the baby!
Each one of mine was different, varying in range from 3 months till 16 months old.. most were about 9 months when weaned...
You can expect your cycle to start again when you are finished nursing unless your body is ready sooner... it's hard to say for sure!

I agree with kitty. Are you breastfeeding? Breastfeeding causes an increase in prolactin (a hormone) in the blood. High levels of this hormone can disrupt the menstral cycle.
