The laws vary from state to state. In Georgia, the speed limit for pulling a boat is 55mph. If you stay under the max speed limit on the interstate, you will be ok. We live in Georgia and travel quite a bit to the gulf in Florida, and when pulling our small boat, we normally don't go over 60-65mph. You have to remember it takes much longer to stop when hauling and you should always allow more room, because you never know what the other fellow will do. Drive carefully.

Oh boy are you in for a surprise. Most trailer laws limit you to 65 during the day and 55 at night. New Boat trailer tires and clean wheel bearings she should be good for 80 pick up truck towing the boat but that is illegal.

Boats are rated via how plenty weigh they might carry particularly than what number human beings. once you notice a human beings score that selection is according to truthfully everyone weighing a hundred and fifty pounds (60 Kg) that's a Coast shelter ordinary Rule of Thumb. there will be a plate on the decrease back of the boat with those rankings on it from the producer. notice: 18 feet seems great on your driveway, yet on the water you will locate out how small of an area it is.So shrink it to six human beings. You can go with traffic. Be careful as the wheel bearings on the trailer wheels need lubrication. If you have bearings that you can lube called bearing buddy's make sure that you put new lube on them. It is an easy process, ask at your boat shop. You can buy the lube and do it yourself in 5 minutes.
Just remember that the tires on the trailer are going around twice for each time you car wheels go around, so they build up a lot of heat.

Sticking to the speed limit would assure no speeding ticket problems. Maybe set the cruise at 5 above. How good a trailer is it? We burned up an axle in GA.

It all depends on the law in those states. In some states the posted highway speed is 70 mph, but if you're towing something, your speed limit is 55 mph.

stay at 50 (55 max.) not only will you save more gas, the time saved won't be far off either, the vehicle is not stable with a trailer, you can go faster but, how long does it take to clean up a trailer off the hwy, boat, crashed vehicle, police reports, car rentals, death, etc. don't sacrifice safety for time, stay safe.

I pull mine at 70mph, depends on the vehicle you pull it with, a fullsize truck with a V8 can handle that speed pretty well, turn off overdrive, use the tow feature if you have it.
