I had 3 major surgeries. The first one being the most apprehensive. (I can't deny it despite the fact that I had an idea of all the things happening along the process of surgery based on my professional experience).

Of course when you awake from anesthesia, the pain would be intense but you won't be left alone suffering, a shot of painkillers will do its job. Being dizyy, feeling of wanting to throw up are among the common unignorable feelings. Discomforts in the stomach, bowel and urinary bladder come next to the attention but there are remedies to relieve those things. The breath-taking experience when you first try to stand up and walk is another thing you won't forget but it will gradually get better as you keep mobilizing. Anyway, you will learn to cope with the pains and discomforts when you get into the real situation. Everything is within your ability to overcome so just consider it as a short sacrifice awaiting for a good reward. After my first surgery experience was over, I realized it was not as bad as what I thought.

Despite the 'good' experiences in the first surgery I had which already gave me all the ideas of what it will be like, some fear remained the same as regards with putting some possibilities of unfavorable outcome. What if anesthesia will go wrong? What if the subsequent surgery would be far different from the previous ones. But amidst all of those bad thoughts I passed 3 major surgeries smoothly and nothing went bad as I thought.

Have confidence that you will successfully pass such procedure, put your trust in the medical team who does their best, and most important thing is to entrust your life to "Someone Above" and everything will just pass as a usual experience. Though surgery is not an easy procedure to be taken lightly, but just take it easy.♥

I had surgery when I was in the seventh grade because I broke my right arm in half. They had to go in and put two titanium rods to hold my bones in place. It was a very easy surgery. Nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be.

I had my appendix removed in 1984. I was not as bad as I thought it would be to begin with. They shot me up with a bunch of good drugs and gave me anesthetic gas, so I hallucinated quite a bit. Afterward, it really hurt a lot where they cut me open but at least I didn't feel like my right side was about to explode.

i've had my apendix removed, my tubes tied, and a bunyon removed from my toe. the surgeries all went fine but the recovery sucked and was painful as all hell. except for when my tubes were tied. it was on halloween morning and i went trick or treating with my kids that night. but, jeez, the other two, glad thats over!

I've had three surgeries and thought it was not big deal including my hysterectomy. But I heal pretty fast.

It relies upon on the guy and the technique; a physically powerful plastic surgeon can help a guy or woman look youthful without attempting to cause them to look as though they are quite positioned up-puberty ;-)
