I have to have a bibliography, which I know how to do, but i don't understand how I get the little numbers by what I want to reference. I am working in Word, not works.

I have already tried these suggestions. The footnotes can't be in the text or at the bottom of the page, it has to be a sheet by itself.

Put icon bar where you want to insert the reference number, then click on "insert" on the menu bar, select "reference", select "footnote/endnote" and go.

You can change your preference for footnotes or endnotes in the options.

In word go to the tab that has inset, then research click on it and it will give you several options check the one you want, if it is wrong close it out and do not save changes or use the undo arrow the blue one in the tool bar. Good luck hope this was helpful, God bless

I assume you're asking about inserting the numbers which refer to "Footnotes" or "End notes"???
If so, click on the "Insert" tab....."Reference"......."Footnote"
(you have the option of choosing footnote or end note.....bottom of page or below text.

Press: Cntrl + Shift + = for superscript Cntrl + = for subscript Edit: if you are using Word '07, then it is on the Font ribbon. you will see two small x's with a subscript and superscript.
