I just got done watching the original with my daughters.... I forgot how good it really was. As much of a Johnny Depp fan as I am, the remake paled in comparison, in my opinion.

I agree with you. I'm a big Johnny Depp fan but the original Willy Wonka is the best. I just watched it the other day with my great niece and she loved it. She always wants to watch the remake of it now she'll pull that one out to watch instead.

2 very different movies. It is a real shame Gene Wilder wasn't nominated for an Oscar that year. Johnny Depp's take on the character was unique and entertaining. Both movies are wonderful, but the original is more of a family film, which means more people will have watched it at an earlier age than the remake, and so it will always be more near and dear to everyones heart. Burton's movie isn't as kid friendly, but it is still a delight!

the original one was better --- -but the factory in the remake is awesome ..... but Johnny Depp made Willy Wonka look more like Michael Jackson

The original was better because it was more imaginative. The new one with Johnny Depp was too much like the book and the oompa loompas were not very good in the second one

The old one was good but I think the first half hour was a bit boring, it didn't really get going till they got to the factory. I think they did a fine job with the second though. johnny Depp is very different but I like it.

MY Favorite Wille Wonka was the Book!.My 4th grade teacher was a great teacher and story teller..and evryday would read to the class ,He made Willie Wonka come to life.. as for the movies,the 1st was my pick..

Yeah, I agree. The first one actually looked more realistic than the second one. I'd like it if they left the graphics and the storyline alone, and then if they added Johnny Depp it would be great.

I liked both of them. but i think the new is better. I liked Gene Wilder better than Johnny Depp- he was freaky!. But the new one was based on the book, it is supposed to be freaky. I like the loopas better too. They all look the same, an ugly old man. lol. And the squirrels!!
