So I just found out there is a difference between Vegan and a Vegaterian my understanding Vegans will not eat a single thing that comes from animals, where as a vegeterian will eat dairy products, eggs and such. Isn't that kind of hypocritical, what's the point most do it because they're saving the animals right? I just don't understand the point of not eating meat I guess, I don't put you down for it to each their own, but if you're going to quit eating meat shouldn't you just go all the way it's like a half hearted effort.

I think different people all have different reasons for becoming vegetarians. I'm a vegetarian myself because I think it's just plain healthier. With all the hormones and disease going around in meat these days I avoid most of that. I do like animals, but that's definitely not the main reason I chose to stop eating meat. Personally, I think vegans are crazy because I could never live without milk or scrambled eggs, and it's also really hard to get all the vitamins you need when you don't eat eggs or dairy products, although, I have heard that being a vegan is better for the environment than buying a Prius. Food for thought.

I am not a vegitarian or a vegan but there are reasons
Vegetarians, only eat the products that only come from the animal without harming the animal (a cow needs to be milked every day and a chicken lays eggs everyday) that is not killing the animal.
Vegans are all about no animals at all. They do not eat eggs or milk but instead eggbeaters or bean milk. Which contains no animal biproducts whatsoever.
Vegetarianism is not a half hearted effort. Its a way of life as is Veganism.

dairy products - Milk, Cheese and cheese products like custard, cottage cheese, sour cream ... do not harm an animal. Now there's an argument for eggs but dairy as in milk products do not injure an animal. Eating these things is not the same thing as eating a hamburger or a steak. Being a vegetarian is not hypocritical or half hearted.
BTW, I'm not a vegetarian myself. I loves the cow and the chicken and the turkey flesh.

I'm a vegetarian. I eat organic dairy products from sources where the animals are well-treated. I don't use eggs much, but if I do, I use eggs from free-range chickens. In both of these circumstances, the cows and the chickens don't die to produce the food I'm eating.
It's my understanding that vegans believe that the animals are suffering, so that's why they don't eat dairy or eggs.
Some vegetarians will purchase leather products (I don't.) Most vegans don't purchase leather products.
Some vegetarians and vegans choose their diets based on health reasons, rather than ethical reasons.

I'm a lacto-ovo vegitarian which means I don't eat any meat or fish but I eat eggs & milk. The reason is vegan is too extreme, no cakes, cookies or anything with eggs. I believe eggs are not really bad to eat because I can't avoid them they're in everything! I don't eat scrambled, boiled or any kind of egg stuff like that though. And I drink milk because it gives me strong bones & keeps me healthy plus it doesn't kill a cow. Please let me know if there are any other questions I can answer.

How is drinking milk and eating eggs not saving the animal? It's not dead is it? If your meaning the cruelty factor of it. Well they don't necessarily buy it from the store. There are a lot of people in my area that sell eggs from their small farms. Also some venders at farmer's markets will sell eggs or honey. They have soy milk in the store and I'm sure local farmer's might also carry milk. I seen a farmer on TV that had a cool machine that he trained his cows to use so they can choose when to get milked. They step on the machine the suckers attach and when they're done they get back off. He said his cows seemed much happier since using it.

Drinking milk doesn't mean the animal has to die. Today's eggs are produced without the hens ever seeing a rooster, so they aren't fertile and would never hatch, so eating eggs isn't killing baby chickens.
Vegetarianism isn't always just about animals, it can be about health. People have different reasons for not eating meat.

well dairy products usually don't involve killing live animals... A lot of people are vegetarian just because they don't like eating an animal's flesh. There's a big difference btw milk, eggs, cheese, ect - and meat.

I agree with you. That is a very good point. Absolutely, they have soy milk, soy cheese and very good soy artificial meat.
It would be better for the enviroment and your health and especially for the animals if you ate simply and low fat and no animal products. They say that some places this isn't possible.
But any where you find raindeer, cows, sheep or goats, even chickens. There has to be grain or hay to feed them. Any where you can grow grain and grass you can grow beans and potatoes.
They will even grow in wine barrels of potting soil. You can grow inside.
If the raiseing of animals isn't cruel the slaughter houses certainly are. I do not believe God gave us animals to eat.
In the beginning the bible says I gave you all green vegation for food. If that where not enough it takes tons of grain to get a very small portion of meat. If everyone quit eating meat we wouldn't have starving people in the world. There would be more than enough for everyone. Also, learn to recycle.
it lands on the earth one can at a time, it can be picked up one can at a time.

Vegetarians don't eat flesh. Eating the flesh of the animal involves killing it, which many vegetarians consider to be morally wrong for many reasons. For example, some people think it is wrong to consume another living thing when we are human beings that are capable of higher thought and there are reasonable alternatives to eating flesh available.
