gripes about your music being too loud... i have gone out of my way to be respectful, not any more they have called my landlord twice in 3 weeks my feet have gotten a little heavier now also since they have complained no more respect

I used to live above an older couple and they called the police on us one time because we were laughing "too loud." You should call the police and ask them what the acceptable range is for being loud. Also, talk to your landlord and ask him what he thinks is acceptable as well.

I was so happy when we moved out because a young couple moved in with 3 kids, one loved to sing, one was 2, i believe the 3rd was a baby. Kids under 5 can be as loud as they want and the police can't do anything about it. That was a nice parting gift for us.
