I think the first part of your question implies that freedom must be sacrificed to eliminate poverty. If so, that sounds like a false dichotomy to me. Perhaps if we were free to choose an economic system that wasn't competitive and greed-based, poverty could be eliminated.
The second part of your question doesn't really require a philosophic answer. Many rich people are clearly miserable. Wealth may relieve you of some stresses, and make it easier for you to be happy, but it doesn't create happiness.

Wealth does not create happiness. Poverty does not trump freedom(what ever that means)! Happiness is an inside job. All that stuff out there is only temporary happiness. Find happiness within yourself because that is the only place where it exist! It is not stuff.

poverty is a bondage. It does not leave u with many options, very little liberty simply because thats how the system of the world operates. Wealth appears to give or does indeed give a limited amount of satisfaction--or happiniess as we can say. This is only because it gives, unlike poverty, more options(certain liberty). But wealth does not answer everything--thats 4 sure.

both is polar opposites create basically the same outcome, speaking of bigger picture. Both embraced by state of restrictions. Both contains state of frustration and happiness represented by variety of manifestations...one state is not better or worst than another...although might be justified differently with common lack of knowing... Freedom does not hold none of mentioned above. Liberation means to transcend both and that needs to be understood deeply..So far we are not even close, still roaming within an idea of duality where one cannot exist without its opposite, but gives an illusion of choice...

Is it mere coincidence that you mention TRUMP and wealth in the same Q???
Freedom isn't a consumable, nor is it defined by economics.
"Happiness" is a form or wealth.
Your metaphor "trump" ??????????????????

Does your question make sense? Oh and to the second one, wealth is equivalent to superiority, and thus success, which leads to general happiness.
