He was born in from the Church of Latter-Day Saints which the Mormons. Now the Mormons had came to Utah to find their "promised land" Zion. This was in the 1800s. These people were white supposedly even related to the Pilgrims. So I'd say he's simply and probably just white or caucasian. Any grandparents or great-grandparents might have been different but Mormon society discouraged marriages out of their religion which was composed entirely of whites from around Britain and Scotland.
