Capuchin, Howler, Saki, Marmosetts, Squirrel, Mandrills, Baboons, Proboscis, Macaques, Spider, Bush Babies (technically a primate but more squirrel like) Guernons, just to name general groups but in each group are species and sub-species. Langurs, Gibbons belong with the apes and though they are called monkeys, they are not. Apes lack tails for one anatomical difference. Many of the South American monkeys have prehensile trails (they use them like a fifth hand) but the Old World monkeys do not. The dentition (the teeth) of monkeys varies a lot from the baboons (which can kill a leopard as a troop) to teeth more like human teeth. Most monkeys are omnivorous (they eat anything) and ranges from insects and lizards to eggs and fruit. Most zoos offer mealworms, cottage cheese, ice cream, various fruits, a primate diet (made by Purina), yoghurt, various vegetables and either scrambled or hard-boiled eggs. One problem in captivity is boredom, and cage or enclosure design must give them a lot of freedom and well as entertainment. Apes are often entertained (after zoo closing time) with TV. In nature, a lot of their time is spent is obtaining food, but in captivity, we provide it so they get bored and develop stereotyped behavior. Big cats do the same by pacing, birds do it by plucking their own feathers out, so it is a challenge to keep the animals happy.

All humans are part neanderthal except for Africans... so far but I bet they have those genes too. We were never monkeys but we did share a common ancestor millions of years ago. I have heard that neanderthals had red hair.
