I'm looking for large storage device alternatives which are portable - easy to plug in and out, has the same capacity or larger than hard disk, and last long - longer/almost aroung a harddisk lifespan. Need your suggestions/recomenddations.. Thanks...

theres nothing more portable in the 100+gig range than a harddrive ... tapedrives are too bulky ... and usb drives are about 5 gig max

I think you can find an external hard drive that will suit your needs. Try going to the links for major manufacturers such as Maxtor, Western Digital, or Seagate, and then check for prices on the web for whichever one you think will do the job. Good luck.

I agree. External hard drives are the way to go. Make sure you pick one that is 7200rpm and USB connectivity.

you can simply buy a memory stick which actualy is the smallest portable memory device, but there is nothing more then 8 GB.

Your out of luck on the same drive space, unless you can fork out the money for a solid state drive. (M-systems, etc.)
