There have been many movie and music lyric lines, "I would die for you". Is there any possible instances where something like this would possibly happen. I am a little tired now from the Tryptophan, so I am not even sure if I am making sense.

Cops and firemen put their lives on the line daily for others. How many of them died September 11 trying to get people out of the towers? Military men and women are dying in saving others. Some mothers die in bringing a child into the world. Other than that, I have never heard of someone sacrificing his or her life for someone else.

there is not any such subject as a existence "ruined" by using age 17. now and returned existence takes us in instructions we did no longer anticipate; now and returned it is readily perplexing to guard; yet each little thing has a manner of working itself out in the tip, and additionally you will detect a existence you're pleased with, the place you're useful at issues that quite count variety to you. there is quite no longer lots you're able to do approximately your mom's alcoholism, different than comprehend which you won't be able to place self assurance in her. you could desire to be a splash extra suitable than the common individual, for that reason - and that's unfair, and it sucks, yet in the tip it is going to in basic terms make you a extra effective individual. As to your intrusive gay urges - properly, there is two opportunities. the 1st is which you have certainly one of those obsessive-compulsive ailment that makes you think of loopy issues you already know deep down are not actual (working example, some obsessive-compulsives won't be able to have self assurance their arms are sparkling even whilst they are observing sparkling arms, or won't be able to have self assurance they did no longer run a pedestrian over on the line even although they have not have been given any reminiscence of doing so). the 2nd possibility is which you're bisexual or gay, and which you're in the closet, and your sexuality is making an attempt to interrupt by using. And if it quite is so, properly, ultimately you will basically could desire to settle for that your existence won't be able to be precisely what you thought it replaced into. surely it is ordinary to have a family contributors and youngsters - a great variety of gay and bisexual adult adult males do. you have as many recommendations as you %; your sexuality would not stress you to anticipate any particular existence form. In a pair years, you would be out of the domicile and on your guy or woman, your mom's alcoholism heavily isn't as pressing a topic, and additionally you will start up construction your grownup existence. it is an exciting time, and the majority describe their early 20s as a time they enjoyed and helpful and (quite) leave out. you would be an absolute fool to kill your self and leave out out on those stunning years.

ummm yes. if you're on a sinking ship, only so many life preservers, etc., if you're in a party store and it's being robbed and you're with your loved ones, would you jump in front of them to take the bullet meant for them? if you saw your child run out into the street after a ball and saw a speeding car approaching, would you do all you could to grab your child out of harm's way or shove them out of the path in the nick of time, only to be hit yourself by the vehicle? if your loved one needed a transplant that could cause your possible death if you donated the organ, wouldn't you do it? god man....give it some thought. i would take a knife, bullet, shark, bear, tiger, ten-ton steel hauler, etc., to save the life of my husband or daughter or granddaughter, and yeah, even my son-in-law. did this open your eyes a bit? hope so!!

Look at Jim Brady and Ronald Reagan....

Mr. Brady didn't die, but without hesitation, he shielded the President with his body... For no other reason than it was his job!

I would give up my own life to save the life of one of my children or my wife...

Rita's answer was excellent, so far 3 thumbs up, & one of them mine. I know you specified "person"--but there was a man, knowing he was risking his life, who went into a burning house to save his cat. They both perished. There are so many kinds of "love," & devotion--I KNOW I would die for my cat, but wonder what the quality of her life would be without me, because we're so bonded. Except for people, as in Rita's answer, whose jobs require risking their lives every day--we can't say for sure what we'd do to save another--until/unless the time comes. & I HAVE heard of "ordinary" people who sacrificed themselves for another. My first X said if we were both starving on a desert island, he would EAT me. He meant it. So there you go--a laugh for the day!

ok... in a literal sense (as in, this person needs to perish specifically for this/those person(s) to live) the answer is No... however in order for some people to "get the picture" a person dieing for them proves what was failed to have been proven before... now the next question becomes: "Is it right to do so?"
