My brother bone scan report says... "the hot spots in right acetabulam and superior pubic ramus are significant of metastasis"... what does this mean

this suggests that there could be metastatic disease, he should be seen by the oncologist asap to discuss further plan of action, good luck

one way to decipher yourself a little would be to google each word.....see if that helps..

acetabulam - The acetabulum is the concave articular surface of the pelvis, formed by the parts of three bones, the ilium, ischium, and pubis. the acetabulum are deep sockets. The word acetabulum means "little vinegar cup", and was the Latin word for a small vessel for storing vinegar

The superior pubic ramus - extends from the body to the median plane where it articulates with its fellow of the opposite side. It is conveniently described in two portions, viz., a medial flattened part and a narrow lateral prismoid portion.

metastasis - is the spread of cancer from its primary site to other places in the body

no idea. but good luck with your brother, both of my aunts currently have cancer and i know what you're going through. I hope everything turns out allright.

don't be so stupid, your saying ......" re occurrence of cancer"......get a brain take him to the SAME doctors that treated him the FIRST TIME .....daaaaaah.....
