freedom is a state of mind...you can obtain it by becoming humble and turning your life over to the guidance of your higher power and inner child/conscious. enslavement is entrapment in petty, materialistic things and thoughts.

Freedom is the most important thing for any human being. We are born with a free mind, happy, spontaneous and joyous. But as kids we are dumped with garbage, and kids are after all kids, they believe everything that is taught and see world based on these assumptions. The very intelligence is taken away. We believe everything that fits that small frame work of thinking and function. Hence depression is the next companion from loss of freedom.
We live in guilt, if we break these rules, rules of the family, culture, community, religion, region,etc, etc. How can a human being who is blessed with a free spirit live with himself crumpled and crucified in this framework of thinking?
As kids we had no powers, but as adults we have the power to change things based on our rational thinking. It is improtant to questions these beliefs and see if they really help you see life in pristine clarity.
Real Freedom comes when we are able to express who and what we are, and not who we are meant to be. Everything we do in life inspite of the rules, is an expression of our core belief for what we want to express.
Just as we have learned it is easy to unlearn. Shed things that do not mean anything to you. We surely dont need gabage bags to be carried.

I'm not try to sound like a monk or anything, but you can only achieve freedom through your mind and your actions. Freedom is being able to do what you want without feeling guilt or shame ( as long as you look at it from a positive standpoint). Do what you want, even if it's childish.
