I suppose that nobody could be expected to be so daft (or so lazy) as to think that asking a question on here is the 'most efficient' method of getting an answer, so you must have had some other motive - perhaps you wanted to know the working?

On the PC you could click Start, then Run ... type 'calc' and press Enter. You can either type using the keyboard or you can click the buttons as on a pocket calculator. You can also copy your answer and paste it into any other document.

You could use Google. Type: 12.19/23 into the Google Search box and it will immediately tell you: 12.19 / 23 = 0.53

(and why not check it by putting in: 0.53*23 ... 0.53 * 23 = 12.19 ... seems to be right!)

Then, of course, you no doubt have a calculator (the pocket variety), or you could exercise your brain a bit with long division! Lay it out something like shown below and work as follows:
23 is larger than 1 and 12 but smaller than 121. (don't forget, as we are using the first number after the decimal point, we must put the point in the answer space, too.) 23*10 is 230, which is about twice as much as 121 ... so try 5. Half of 230 is 115. Take it away from 121 leaving 6. Bring down the 9. 69 is exactly 3 times 23, so the answer is exactly 0.53!

23 ) 12.19 ( 0.53

121
115 -
-----
6<------9
69 -
------
0
====

(doesn't format very nicely here because it removes all 'redundant' spaces, annyoyingly).
