Definitley and unfortunately Capitalsim. If you read Chomsky you will see how capitalism invades the UN declaration of human rights. As long as back room deals are made and decisions that are based on the economy rather than human rights democracy will always be second tier. Free movement of Capital undermines democracy. It creates a "virtual senate". Financial capital can impose the policies it choses on government and can punish those that deviate by captial flight. This undermines the democratic people from taking part in socio economic planning and also undermines efforts to use public resources for the people instead of the investors. For example social welfare, imporved working conditions, environmental policies, education etc can be restricted for fear of lose of capital. Anybody who thinks they go hand in hand have just been brainwashed by years of government and business leaders telling them that.

The USA is a republic, not a democracy. Therefore, I would have to give the nod to capitalism.

American democracy and capitalism are interdependent and interwoven concepts. I personally feel democracy is a lot more important, but I think a lot of Americans feel otherwise.

Tough question. I would have to say democracy or, specifically, a form of it, constitutional republics. They help to check abuses done in capitalism.

Democracy (or a form of it) is written in the Constitution. Capitalism is not written in the Constitution.

We comprehend the way extremely important it is to circumvent socialism from becoming to be national coverage. We celebrate with the final republic in the international and we are somewhat freed from dictatorship. Socialist international places won't be able to make that declare. Democracy, to function, demands one hundred% participation in government by using its electorate and that, my buddy, is in no way going to ensue. Even could desire to by using some wild hazard, there be one hundred% of the electorate vote casting, rules could nevertheless be enacted by using a normal majority somewhat than being debated and written with the stable of the completed inhabitants in strategies. Democracy then, is rule of the mob. no longer a reliable subject. Mob rule finally leads to dictatorship, additionally no longer a reliable subject. adult adult males combat for liberty and win it with perplexing knocks. Their infants, pronounced ordinary, permit it slip away returned; detrimental fools. And their grand-infants are as quickly as extra slaves.

Democracy...look at Canada they care more about the people than they do their economy, and they are doing just fine... I think that when you put your people first, that leaves them happy, which in turn ups production, which then leads to profits for all!

ok, I'm kinda confused beacuse your using both terms as if they are a form of government. Democratic republic is the form of government and capitalism is our system of economics.
