wow that is a big baby! I have a 4 month old who is 16lb and on the 75th percentile line. He has 7oz bottles 4 - 5 times a day and is very content. Yes, your baby is a larger one, but if he is happy and healthy then that shouldnt be a concern. Is he from a larger or tall family, and a big baby when born? These things all influence weight, but do be concerned if he seems too large, as he may grow into an obese child later on. See what your doctor or child health nurse has to say, but if his happy and they're happy then relax! Once he starts crawling it will just fall off him!

My son was 22 lbs at 4 months. He is now almost 2, always been at the top of the growth chart, and he is now 3 feet 1/2 inches. He weighs 36 lbs. He has a little chubby around his knees still, but he is not fat. He only had breastmilk until 6 months. I would say don't worry unless the Dr says to do so. If you are comfortable with his weight, it is fine.

Babies grow at different rates at different times. The Dr. watches their growth over time. I'm sure she's fine. If she looks healthy to you I wouldn't worry about it. My son (4 months old) just gained 5 lbs. in 2 months. I don't know what he gained each week.

your baby sounds like he is going thru a growth spurt. Common times for growth spurts are during the first few days at home and around 7-10 days, 2-3 weeks, 4-6 weeks, 3 months, 4 months, 6 months and 9 months (more or less). as long as the doctor has no concerns about his weight, he's doing great. my daughter was a little chubby at that age too. he won't continue to keep adding on pounds.

1 lb a week might be a bit much, but if he's acting fine and looking healthy, then I don't see a problem with it. If it's between him screaming for more formula and him not gaining that much, by all means, I'd give him the formula! My problem was just the opposite, though. He was low birthweight so I was wishing he'd gain a pound a week! He's 12 months now and weighs 21 lbs!

Wow. That's a big baby!
My 15 month old daughter is in the 90th percentile for weight, and she's 24 or 25 pounds!
But if your doctor says it's OK, it's OK. If you're really worried, make sure you ask the doctor to talk to you specifically about your son's weight at his next well-baby checkup.

Well I'm not so sure it is normal but probably well within that range... my sisters son is 4 m onths and 20 lbs and he is not on the weight chart he is so heavy. her doctor told her to stop feeding him everytime he was crying and try other soothing techiniques. Ask your docotor if he is eating too much.

I would get a second opinion. My 11 month old son weighs 21 pounds as well and people tell me he looks big for his age.

I would talk with my dr. about his weight. That is pretty big for being so young. I would also suggest getting a 2nd and 3rd opinion. He may have a disroder that is being overlooked. better to be safe than sorry.
