That Clinton gave them food, money and two nuclear power plants in return for their *promise* not to make nuclear weapons.

The world is a more dangerous place. Who knows what they will do with them. Quite possibly sell them to the highest bidder.
Bush dropped the ball. While he was playing in Iraq, ignoring North Korea was a huge mistake. Economic sanctions haven't worked before, and it's just pi**ing them off more. They are seeking revenge, and it may be too late to stop them.
We've (USA) been backed into a corner, and they know that. They see how things have developed in Iraq, and Afghanistan. It's strategy.

My view on North Korea is the same now as it was 10 years ago. They are a communist dictatorship that would collapse if not propped up by more dictatorships. They have a nut for a leader now, but he is not a fool. He is calculating and cruel. He is dangerous but not as dangerous as Iran.

Stop listening to the Democrats & keep the 5 party talks going. Remember Clinton payed them with food to stop the research on the bomb for 4 years then when they say how weak Bill was on forign affars they started up again because they knew no one would stop them. That is why President Bush will not talk face to face. Why should he when they dont keep their word & we do. They dont want war with us because no one can win,& they know this . It is just for show for the N.Korean people. That way they will forget he is starving them to death.

I would say that it makes them extremely dangerous and we need to bomob all installations which support the production of these nuclear devices. Then go if front of the UN and ask - who wants to be next.

I think it is very scary.
Having said that, I also think it is scary that so many other nations (including us) have them. How totally hypocritical that we are telling other countries they can't develop the same weapons that we have ourselves. It all seems like the world governments are against this so they don't lose their superiority.
If Bush and the others want to really convince us that developing nuclear weapons is wrong, they should start by cleaning their own houses. Otherwise, they look stupid.

I think this would have never happened if NK had been a priority from the beginning as it should have been...I think Bush's ideas for sanctions are a start, but it seems to be moving soooo slowly...instead of trying to pass the buck to China he should be pushing the U.N. to do more.
