How do you create a server?

I was wondering if wanted to make a server to store files on how would i go about doing that

If security isn't too much of a concern, then you can create a quazi server by turning on file sharing on one computer that you will always leave on. Then, create folders and create shares on those folders. Depending on your OS you may be able to set a password to get to gain access to the folder.

However, if you have multiple users or security is a concern or you want some advanced features that come with a real server setup, then you will need to buy server software.

Download a server program...set it up, have clients connect to it.
