I get the idea from reading your commentary that there is a point being made for murder, abortions and capital punishment why does one provoke outrage and the other doesn't and what is the difference that's the point. Personally I'm against abortions because it is murder and i am against capital punishment because people have a tendency to be biased so until people demonstrate a fair and unbiased even across the board means of administering capital punishment i am against it.

"Killing" is an atrocity to me, but unfortunately, for those who want definitive answers, remember there are never any ABSOLUTES. What we may perceive as the "best" or"only" answers also have their abuses. I don't make a "big deal" out of abortion, but how presumptuous it would be to of me to judge the right or wrong of it when I can only be subjective, with little or no true information about the motivation, reason. As for the death penalty, if you do your research, you'll find it is NOT a deterrent, it is basically premeditated MURDER, & innocent people have gotten it. Tell me, if your son bashed in your daughter's head, would the best way to show him this is "wrong" be to bash in HIS head? If someone were convicted, having PROPER REPRESENTATION (ha) & proven guilty 100%--I'd say--put them away forever & make them WORK. Incredible that some supposedly intelligent people actually believe that prison is just one big SPA for which "we" pay. Well, it's NOT. Revenge is the emotional rationale for the death penalty. Our laws should not be governed by emotions. Now let all those angry people call me a "LIB" or whatever they like. (Your question would have been better placed in the category of PHILOSOPHY, by the way.)

One is using the state to turn against the teachings of Christ.
Lest we gorget that Christ was one of the most innocent men that received capitol punishment at the hands of folks not different than yourself.
Remember when Moses brought forth the Ten Commandments?
How about the 6th Commandment?
Thou shalt not kill!
What gives the state the right to break that commandment?
Now, even though I hate the idea of abortion, when Ronald Reagan was governor of California he signed the bill that legalized it in this state.
The Bible also says that we must live by the laws of the land, and since Reagan made it the law of the land, it would be Un-American and Un-Christian like for me to disapprove.
Any more questions?

Yes, there is a huge difference and there is absolutely no comparison. Capital punishment is a punishment for a crime. The person has no choice over whether or not they will receive the death penalty. Abortion is a woman's choice it is not forced on the woman. Huge differences.

I am against both. But I do not think there is a moral equivalency--at least I think it is quite logical and ethical and consistent to be against abortion and for capital punishment.
Convicts are convicted after a (presumably--though that is part of my problem) fair trial and a fair and impartial jury (again another of my problems) has made a decision that because of their horrendous and immoral behavior they have forfeited their right to life.
Though some may disagree with capital punishment--there is no way that it is the equivalent of , as you say, killing an innocent life.

Actually, I've been asking that question for years. Capital punishment is murder (Jesus said that God will judge, not you-and the last time I checked jurors are made up of people, not God). If you oppose abortion, you must oppose all forms of killing, including capital punishment and war.

I don't support either one.
Both are a form of killing people. Abortion takes the life of a human baby. And capitol punishment is very costly, and doesn't prevent crime.
