Any line requires at least two points, including time lines. The number of units separating the points is not particularly important: the timeline of a 100-meter dash will be measured in tenths of a second; the timeline of a human life in years or decades; the timeline of a species in millions of years.

sure - but you will need more for a 'line'
1543 - discovered paper
1544 - discovered pencil or whatever
1600 - died
