I watched The Perils of Pauline starring Betty White last night on Turner Classic Movies Channel...I loved it...I'm only 14, but I think I'll like other classics as well. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks,
Kiara

Here are my favorite old movies -
Anything Hitchcock
Anything Abbot & Costello
The Topper series (Topper (1937), Topper Takes a Trip (1939), Topper Returns(1941)) - very fun and silly and classic
The Ghost and Mrs Muir (awesome awesome movie)
Whatever Happened to Baby Jane
Old black and white monster movies (Dracula, Frankenstein etc) - great fun and a little scary(ish) to watch on a dark Hallow's eve
Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin movies are a good time passer - my favorite is The Disorderly Orderly
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
The Shop Around the Corner (the original of You've Got Mail)
Cape Fear (the old old one)
Singin' in the Rain
Brigadoon
Gone With the Wind
The Lady Vanishes
State Fair
Carousel
(Funny once I started thinking about these...I was introduced to all of these by my mom when I was about your age).
Have fun! :)

If you like comedy, try a Don Knotts movie. A good one for this time of year is The Ghost and Mr. Chicken.
If you really want to go back, you can try a Abbott & Costello movie also. A good one for this time of year is Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein, also a comedy and has Dracula and the Werewolf in it also.
Whatever you watch, congrats on opening yourself up to a whole different world. You'll find there's nothing quite like a good old fashioned classic. Enjoy!

If you are looking for humour then try
"Nothing Sacred" (1937)
"The Time of their Lives" (1946)
"It Happened one Night" (1934)
"Dinner at Eight" (1933)
"A Night at the Opera" (1935)
"Holiday" (1938)
These are all great old films and will lead you to others to enjoy. Consult the Internet Movie Database to learn all you want to know and more about films.
It never ceases to amaze me how so many people believe that movies from the 60s are the classic age of film.

That is a good movie. I like Cleopatra...with Elizabeth Taylor, and Gone with the wind but these are long movies you might get bored...you should see Roman Holiday with Audrey Hepburn...Vertigo of Alfred Hitchcock. Classic movies rock.
