I am an 20year old female. I have not eaten all day and went for a 4 mile walk with my friend that we do everyother day. This is the first time I had what felt like a "heavy chest" It was like I could not get a full breath. It started to hurt in my back as well, right where my lungs are. As the walk progressed it got worse and then one the last mile and a half I felt better.... not normal, just not as much pressure.... What could it be?

1. your body could be lacking the effective nutrition to sustain you

2. you may have a mild form of exercise induced asthma.

3. you may have a slight respiratory infection.

If you have any headaches, associate arm pain, nasuea or indegestion you should see your docotr immediately. if he' s ot in go to the ER.

If you still feel ill in the morning see him anyway as it could be something else.

i do hope that you weren't trying to lose weight. by not eating regular meals you will put your metabolism in starvation mode and your body will burn lean muscle tissue to attempt to supply your body with energy. maybe you'll see the scale numbers drop, but you're just losing muscle and water. you'll keep most of your adipose tissue and potentially do long term damage to your metabolism and body.

the only time i've had simlar symptoms was when i did extremely strenuous execise (like swimmng) for an extended period of time

Could be exercised-induced asthma. See your doctor and relate your symptoms to him or her.
