I really know i need to stop being friends with my ex. I spend a lot of time with her and i feel really sad afterwards that I just cant hold her and have her look deep into my eyes and know that she loves me. It wasnt a great relationship and it basically ended mutually. I know she doesnt love me anymore because she gets uncomfortable whenever I mention old times or when I get angry at her (she knows I get angry at her because I cant have her). I do still feel great when Im with her and she makes me happy for the time but then when I get home, the next day I am sad again. I know being a couple with her would never work out again but I still wanna spend time with her and I like to think about kissing her pretty lips just one last time. Basically my question is- Does anyone here have a successful friendship with there ex? And has anyone here tried being friends with there ex and realized that it wouldnt work and now you are over them?

By the way I never was really freinds with her before the relationship, I thought she was weird. I am in high school and she had a crush on me so I asked her out to try to get some and I fell deeply in love.

It doesn't work, basically because one wants it to and the other doesn't. It makes the break-up even harder each time.

I dont think of there is something incorrect with being acquaintances alongside with your ex as long as there are not any considerable detrimental themes left lingering accessible, yet having pronounced that why could you be calling him your ex if there replaced into no longer something undesirable or incorrect. right here it doesnt sound like there are considerable issues occurring from now on so be acquaintances why no longer. I incredibly have an ex husband that WOW we had some considerable themes we've been married for 10 years coping with cheating, alcoholism, and actual and psychological abuse and we are wonderful now......yet he's an entire distinctive individual now additionally. as long as you're mushy with the completed friendship relationship why no longer.

Actually thats never happened to me. Im currrently friends with all of my exes. It could just be because I also have a great boyfriend right now. And also, basically all of my relationships ended because I lost interest. Lol. So sorry, but I cant relate.

My ex and I have been divorced for 5 years and are now best friends. We live in different towns but we do enjoy speaking on the phone and occasional visits. We also have 3 sons together so this makes it easier on them and really easy on us. I do love her but not in the way a husband should love a wife, but she is a good friend and one of the nicest ladies I have ever known.

I tried being friends with an ex. It worked for about two weeks, I came out and told him that I couldn't keep it up and we never talked again.

I never have, nor do I believe in being friends with your exes. I think exes that are friends, still have feelings for each other. Not a good idea if you have another g/f or b/f.

I've never been able to be friends with an ex....it just doesn't work out right......of course, most of the guys I've dated in the past were emotionally abusive...they kept me from growing at all- from becoming something special.......so I can't be friends with them, even though they do keep coming back to try to be friends with me.....I don't trust them.......if you weren't friends before, you likely won't be friends now.......Sorry!!

Yes, people have tried to be friends with their ex. And you need to stop bringing up old times because it makes her dislike you more.OK.

I think that if you two still have feeling for one another than it wouldn't but if you just can't stand to be without her then be her friend and tell her just a basic friend realtionship but give her hints about it dont tell her that (NO FLIRTING)
