Some people do try to blame temptation on the devil, and I do believe he is the cause of some. After all, we believe that he tempted Eve in the garden of Eden.
However, we can never say that the devil made me do it. We have our own freewill and choose to or not to give into temptation. We can put the responsibility for our actions on noone but ourselves.
Hope you don't really hate Christians like the one person answered.

Good versus Evil. If they blame their temptations on the devil couldn't that work in court? The Devil made me do it. I have no control over my own actions. But then again wouldn't that also mean that you gave your body over to the Devil as well? Wouldn't that make them Hypocrites? Things that make you go Hmmmm.......

I've never seen a Christian blame temptation on the devil.Why do you hate Christians so much?

Ima think about that one.
I believe it goes back to the story of Adam and Eve in Genesis, where the first temptation of man was from the serpent, who was actually satan or the devil in that story.

Christians....because they've been told to blame the devil. The whole damn world blames someone else for their bullsh*it. Everyone has a scapegoat of some kind. Very few admit their own shortcomings, and accept total blame for themselves. Only a very select few, such as myself, have no faults, and don't have to worry about it blaming anyone.

sinful temptation comes from the devil. All things evil are from the devil. God would not tempt anyone to kill, rape, or anything else evil. God is pure love, and the devil is pure evil.

satan himself has 1 purpose, and that is 2 try and decieve man. all things considered evil r of satan. drugs, premarital sex, murder, stealin, alcohol, whatever r what he is about. some r worse than others in the eyes of man, but 2 GOD a sin is a sin. now he will 4give u for your sins. he asks us 2 b "CHRIST LIKE" and live as good as we can. most of us give in 2 the simple things like smokin, drinkin, and stuff and as long as we r sincere when we ask 4 4giveness he does. satan just wants us 2 keep doin' wrong. 4 some1 who worships satan could u imagine them askin 4 4giveness 4 doin somethin good. tahts funny soundin. anyways it started in the garden. man and woman had it made till the serpent told eve if she ate of the tree of knowledge that she would b as knowing as GOD
she gave in and convinced adam 2 go along and then cain was blinded by satan and killed his brother able. it has been goin on ever since

coz its in the religions history like the serpent that tempt eve to eat the fruit.I think that plays a great influece to christian religion.But in reality nobody really is responsible to our action but us.Devil is like a scapegoat to those who yield to temptation.Am a christian though but now i never blame anybody for my action rather than me myself.

if they had strength of character to take responsibility for their own actions they wouldn't be religious in the first place.
