We are linked to China but I can't figure who has the upper hand. China finances all of our debt... but the Chinese economy is 65% exports. So if we stopped buying from them they would be screwed as well. Everyone says globalization is so great but no one really wants to say that it calls for interdependency between nations with different morals and attitudes. Next time you go to Wal Mart think, "Is it really worth it?"

First of all, China is a legitimate nuclear power. It also is the largest lender to the US. We can't force China into anything anymore than China can force us. But make no mistake, China is no longer a push over militarily or economically.
Secondly, until the last 50 years, China had a long history of under foreign occupation and dominance. North Korea is a buffer zone to its north eastern border. As much as China hates to see a nuclear North Korea, it hates even more the prospect of a united Korea, armed to the teeth and friendly to the west. The Russians almost triggered World War III because of Cuba for similar reasons. China is not blind to the fact that NATO is well positioned with its nuclear arsenal in Turkey...right at the throat of Russia.
Third, Korea is a close trading partner with China.

Get serious, China does not want N.Korea pushed into war simply because it would eventually mean the colapse of their government . If this happens there would eventually be S. korean and American soldiers right on China's border. Hell, I wouldn't want that either if I was the Chinese government. You say force China to straighten up or else. Or else what?

china has already threatened the US directly several times that it would respond with nukes in the event it is interefered with militarily ... dont be mislead by world events ... almost everything you see the US doing militarily especially in the middle east ... is done in the light of the China threat and a future confrontation with China ...

You ask why? A 79 billion dollar trade deficit. America owes
China for a long time to come. Not to mention a million man
army among other things.

or else what? Is the US going to attack China? We can't even take care of 25,000 terrorists/insurgents in Iraq/Afghanistan, how is the US going to take on 1.2 billion Chinese w/ about 1,000 nuclear missles pointed right at us?

N. Korea + China= a bad-asz army/nuke arsenal.
We don't want to acknowledge reality because it is scary.
We can't force them because our economy is linked to China's and if they team up they won't be stopped.

Who is "they"? If you mean the US, you are being ridiculous. China owns us, lock, stock and barrel. We owe them billions in debt. The tell us what to do, not the other way around.
