You say liberals are responsible for the social programs that help people BUT YET you claim we hate GOD. YET republicans are the party of GOD and MORALITY and you want to cut out all social programs and just let people live on the street and fend for themselves. It's just so confussing these days. It seems everything is twisted.

OK, why with this question do I get attacked for going against the bible? I did not say anything here about being a liberal, I did not say anything here about abortion, NOR did I even mention the word HOMOSEXUALITY. I simply asked, WHEN did helping people and caring about them become a bad thing. And the people who, AS CONSEVATIVES HAVE STATED TIME AND TIME AGAIN, try to create and continue programs that help them get associated with Hating GOD? It would seem that the people trying to cut out these programs are associated with the party that claims to be the more "GOD" like. YES, there is abuse of all programs. there is even abuse in the republican party just look at what's going on with them these days BUT does that mean you just "QUIT" helping people?

OK, to all you who say, "I shouldn't have to pay taxes to "help" people. How come it's ok to tax people to give tax breaks to businesses and those who own them? Why is taxing ME to help someone that is already rich ok BUT taxing ME to help someone less fortunate NOT OK?

1. With many conservatives, there is no "separation of Church & State." (Meaning they have to drag God/Jesus into politics)
2. Many conservative politicians deliberately appeal to the so-called "Religious Right," playing to their religious beliefs to appeal for support, while at the same side using those same "moralistic" principles to tear down anyone who doesn't agree with them (i.e. persons with a more liberal/open-minded outlook).
Frankly, I think if God wanted to be dragged into politics, He'd let us know.

What are you talking about? Do some research...This administration has passed more social help programs out than any other admistration!
What is wrong with people fending for themselves? If everybody depends on the Government for their lives, then we have a total socialist government! The more we depend on the government the less power we have to regulate our own lives. Every time that has been tried it has failed!
I think the thing with our Government is that they have created a Royality! If they get voted out they are just appointed by the other Party and they stick around and run for election again and it just goes on and on. We need to have 4yrs learn the job. The next 4yrs do the job and get out of government and back in the public sector. With only a token retirement.
Stop adding porkbelly to the bills and make them so the general public knows what is going on. Take away the abilty of the Supreme Ct. to overturn laws that are passed. They have become more powerful than the other two bodies of the government put together! They are just there to see that the law of the land are obeyed and not overturn them!
What is this about not being able to talk about politics just before an election and yet the news media gets to say all they want about it in their biased openions. Then they try to shut up or take away the rights of others to give their openion.
Suposidly respected reporters have been caught time and time again just making up stories just to move the public in their direction! Any newsperson that does this should be banned from reporting again! What a discrace to honest reporting!
They asked a bunch of college media students, "what is your goal as a reporter?"
The agreed upon answer, "To change the world."
That is for government to do, not reporters!
Enough for now...

I'm not sure if you remember Bill Clinton's Welfare Reform Act but it cut all US social programs by about 1/3 or more. How could a Democratic President do such a heartless thing? Because it actually helps poor people to find jobs, get back on their feet and become self sufficient and not have to live on welfare for the rest of their lives.
Welfare is still there for the mentally ill or disabled who can't fend for themselves but anyone else who can work is given that opportunity by Not getting welfare which only motivates people to not want a job.

consider this: faith based programs work better than any gov. run program, thus the republicans want more faith based programs, ease the burden on tax payers. The republicans do not want people living on the streets, but eventually like a child leaving home we will all fend for ourselves.
Tax breaks for business are to stimulate the economy that we are all benefiting from, the owners pay their taxes just like you.

you won't be able to do stable by using doing evil. Stealing from one individual with a view to offer to somebody else continues to be immoral. it is in basic terms ok in case you earned the money your self. and additionally you're actual. contemporary liberals ARE twisted. they think of the convenience of a woman is extra important than the existence of a defenseless newborn. How is that ethical? Take a protracted, perplexing look at your ideals, and how they actually line up with God's be conscious.

It's not the support for social programs that raises the ire of religious conservatives....it's the support for an individual's right to do "sinful" things.
Though, to be fair to Christian conservatives, Jesus advocated PERSONAL charity...not forcing people to help others at the point of the tax man's gun.

I think it happened when caring for others and trying to help people is became an excuse for stealing. When you reach in your own pocket to give to the needy, thats charity and good. When you reach into someone else's pocket its called stealing, and that is wrong.
What is really twisted is the idea that providing handouts and creating dependency is helping. And that requiring responsibility and promoting independence is not helping.
Its really not confusing. Its as simple as knowing the difference between charity and stealing.

If you believe in God why do you go against the bible? It clearly states gays and gay marriage is wrong. Abortions are wrong. But you support these? Someone is twisted...
People don't have to live on the streets. They are homeless shelters and many are able to get jobs. Too many people are abusing food stamps and getting it when they don't even need them.

You waste far too much energy worrying about all this. Focus on your own life, and you'll feel better. Try this slogan on for size:
LIVE AND LET LIVE
Love jack
PS: "Liberals" do not enact "social programs" to help ANYONE, except THEMSELVES. YUCK.
