well working out like this is never going to get your results.

I assume that because you placed this question in the basketball section, you play basketball.

Therefore you should ask yourself what is the optimal calf strength and size for that sport.

For example although basketball players have strong calfs, they are not as strong or as well defined as soccer players for example.

When working out you should do sets and reps (don't know if you did this or not) but you should. As for training today no you should not as you should do many over time, not a bunch in one session like you seem to be doing.

As for seeing results, is that what this is about to you? Appearance?

If so then continue to do many, but if you want to make yourself a better player then you need a serious overhaul of your training program.

Wow. I think you should take it down a bit. Your muscles need 48-72 hours to repair themselves( because of all the tears they get in their fibers) and strengthen, but you need to do your exercising slowly. It happens gradually. It also helps if you incorporate muscle training with cardio. You lose more that way.

Why don't you add some weight to those calf raises or better yet do some plyometrics to increase your speed?
