I am a group B -strep carrier all three of my kids were born healthy. When you go in to deliver your baby they give you an IV of Penicillin to prevent the baby from strep. Don't stress to much my last baby was born fast and they nurses were not sure if antibiotic had a chance to work she was born perfectly healthy. The chances of your baby contracting it are pretty slim seen as the doctors know you have and take preventative actions.

Well I have five children my youngest being almost 6 months old now and with her I found out I had Strep-B scared the shiit out of me as well. But as long as you get put on an antibiotic the moment you go into labor then you and the baby will be fine. Talk to your doctor more about it and that will ease your mind. I know how you are feeling because I went through it but my baby and myself are completely fine. Don't Worry and Good Luck

i had g-strep with my son thats 1 years old now and what they did was put me on some kind of medicine(pinicillien) through my iv before i was in active labor and after i finally had him everything was good but they did keep me in the hospital for 1 more extra day to make sure he was fine and he was so dont worry it will be ok.

I had that with my daughter. It is very serious and can kill the baby as it is born. BUT the good news is that you don't need to worry nowadays. All you need is an IV and when you are in labor, they will give you an antibodic well you are in labor. I am not sure what antibodic it is, but it nulifes the b-step. My daughter was absoluetly gorgeous, still is:)

It won't hurt your baby at this point. If you are strep-B positive you'll be given antibiotics for it during labour to protect your baby. Don't worry too much.
