I disconnected my landline over 3 years ago because it was cheaper to go cellular and I was out of the house 75% of the time. I been using cable as my internet connection but now dsl is cheaper so is it possible to get dsl service if you don't have landline service anymore? The local service is SBC in my area.

You have to have a phone service. Part of the DSL is the phone number assigned to the house. And, to make matters worse, you have to sign up for all the "bells and whistles" to get the special prices of DSL. Which will cost you about the same (or a bit more) as the savings you will get for the DSL discount.

The DSL uses the phone line. Its impossible to get DSL without a land line.

DSL could desire to have a telephone line. it is the DSL modem which performs the situation of bobbing up a classic landline to finished duplex and enhance in velocity. As to have calling plans or no longer, it relies upon on the ISP regardless of if to offer with incomings in basic terms for loose with ordinary condominium or its mandatory to have a calling plan. although i do no longer comprehend of any ISP which grants in basic terms the power of offering incomings in basic terms with DSL connection.
