Antibiotics less the effectiveness of BC, you should have read the information with the antibiotic. You may not get pregnant from one time, but then you may. You should be careful. Protect yourself and read the information packets.

Just becareful!

Antibiotics may reduce the effectiveness of birth control. Usually doctors tell you to use back up protection like condoms while on antibiotics and until you start your new pack. Some people believe that only certain antibiotics do this and that cypro is not one of them. Other doctors and pharmacists are unsure and would rather warn all their patients on antibiotics. The antibiotics do not make your pill completely useless so, it's possible you were still protected but, no one can know that for sure until you find out you are not pregnant.

Okay, so, this is what you do. Take Plan B or the morning after pill to try and prevent pregnancy if it has been less than 72 hours. Use condoms until you get your period. If you don't get your period, take a pregnancy test and good luck!

Antibiotics reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills. While you're on the medication you should have your bf use a condom too, just to be on the safe side.

It's good to question your health your best bet would be to call other doctors get other opinions and looks at the effects for the birth control. Most doctors won't give something that will effect birth control if they know you are on it.

Call your hospital and double check with another gynecologist, until then use protection. I've not heard of antiobiotics and birth control mixing well - usually it decreases the effectiveness of the birth control.

antibiotics decrease the effectiveness of your birth control. and if you just started the birth control, it won't work right away any way.
