The N Koreans used heavy water reactors to make the plutonium - given to them and supported by the former soviet union and china. The light water reactors were never completed and would have been extremely difficult to make plutonium with.

They got it from spent fuel rods from reactors. You'll have to ask the midget dictator which particular reactor or all of them.

The Nuke reactors was provided by a Swiss company called ABB. Donald Rumsfeld was on their board, and helped approve the sale. The sale of the two nuke reactors was made in 2000.
