After watching Countdown tonight, I almost wish Mr. Olbermann was telling the truth about habeas corpus and the Military Commissions Act of 2006. Then he could be labeled an enemy combatant and just disappear forever.

Angry Deb - Clairvoyance is not your strong suit. I suggest you stick to your day job. You have made sweeping generaliztions about me based solely on my disagreeing with Mr. Olbermann's spin on the Military Commisions Act of 2006. One only needs to read the actually bill passed by Congress, to know that he is only trying to build a fire under his loyal viewers. His diatribe follows the slippery slope fallacy common in persausive speech. He has no validation for his claims other than his fear and dislike of the current administration.

Yeah when he talks I just want to talk back. Everything he says seems to be slightly twisted.

He always says the days after they announced 'Mission Accomplished' in Iraq I guess for irony. But of course the mission was accomplsihed- Saddam is gone. And he woudn't knwo that...

Maybe he should brin O'Reilly on his show instead of someone who always agrees with him. He bashes O'Reilly for nothing anyways....

Listen pigpen, one doesn't have to be clairvoyant to see your solution to the ' problem ' of Keith Olbermann. According to you , he should be "disappeared" ( read murdered) because his views don't line up with yours. If I believed in hate speech legislation, instead of free speech guaranteed by the Constitution , I would call what you said hate speech. Instead I call your misinterpretation / misunderstanding of the Military Commissions Act a difference of opinion, or a flaw in your ability to step outside of the moment and see what legislation like this means and where it takes us. I dont want you to be "disappeared". It's much better to step outside of our little paradigms, discuss and learn. Wanting someone to die because they disagree with you, what can that be called ? Certainly not patriotism.
However, according to the Military Commissions Act , anyone who doesn't give allegiance to the President is guilty of " wrongfully aiding the enemy " . That is unconstitutional. My allegiance is to the Country. Suspension of Habeas Corpus is constitutional. Elimination of Habeas Corpus is unconstitutional. The Military Commissions Act eliminates Habeas Corpus forever. I feel that this cannot be good under any circumstances, even if I agreed with the current Presidents policies . Any thoughts?

Olbermann, today's answer to Ed Murrow, did tell the truth. Read the law. But the person who should be labeled an enemy combatant, who has laughed at out constitution, at our separation of powers (with signing statements), who has turned my country from a beacon of hope to a country that tortures -- in ways we PROSECUTED after WWII -- is George W. Bush.

Maybe you should quit watching Countdown. I don't think your system can handle it.
