This woman at work was transferred a year ago for harassing me. She is now back and - knowing that I am highly allergic to perfume - has decided to start pouring it on. The management ruled that she can wear whatever perfume she wants - my allergies don't matter. Perfume makes me lightheaded and my chest tightens.

She has been working for this company for 4 years - I have been there for 22 years and am not going to quit. I have a little over 12 years to go to retiremet with a very generous pension.

Wow, I feel sorry for you; there seems to be a harasser who enjoys making people miserable and bringing people down in every company. Seems like she found your weak spot with your allergies. I'm also allergic to fumes and sprays and I know how it can affect your health. You have invested a lot of years into your job; and you certainly don't want to lose that. There are laws preventing people from subjecting you from second hand smoke because of health reasons. I would think that your case can stand on that legality; and, yes, you will have to build a case for your defense and present it to management. Be aware that she will look for other weaknesses to attack you with. Don't give her the opportunity. Keep your life private from her. Good luck!

Do you have a union?
Would your doctor give you a note for your boss?
Maybe you could write a letter to your local newspaper.

I used to work in an office where everyone smoked and I used to get terrible nosebleeds from the smoke irritation, but nobody stopped smoking, so I know what it's like. I quit finally.

Well to quit would be what she wants and well ask for a different job or confront her about the perfume and ask her what have I done to deserve this treatment. Hope this helps

Ask to be moved away from her . If that doesn't work let some one in management know you will be sending Dr. bill to them !
