Snowflakes are lighter then rain, so rain falls faster than snow and "drops" snow ( depending on the weight of it) kinda of floats or falls.

Because rain is heavier. Snow is light as a feather, so it can't quite drop.. it has to lightly fall.

rain doesn't drop...it falls just like snow...it's just the product of what is falling is considered a raindrop...just like when snow falls it is considered a snowflake...we don't say "yeah we had a lot of rain drop today, or we had a lot of snowflake today...it's "we had a lot of rainfall or a lot of snowfall"

Rain is a liquid...
Snow is a solid; until it melts...
The rain fell... is falling.... fell...
The snow fell....
They can actually be interchanged........
