Mitosis occurs in all cells,meiosis only occurs in the sex cells, therefore mitosis occurs more often

Mitosis-- most cells that reproduce by mitosis are somatic (body) cells (i.g. blood, liver, etc). The only cells that reproduce my meiosis are the germ cells (sperm, egg). Being that somatic cells greatly outnumber germ cells, mitosis is more common.
