A TV screen is NTSC and a lot lower resolution than your typical computer monitor. You will never get as sharp an image on your TV no matter what you do simply because the resolution is not there. This is why HDTV came out.
You can bet that in a few years whenever the technology catches up HDTV will be replaced by SHDTV or Super-HDTV which will let you have a six foot screen with details smaller than an eighth of an inch in perfect sharpness. We ain't there yet. Trying to get a sharp picture on NTSC would be like trying to ram an inch-thick rope through the eye of a needle.

Buy a monitor. A TV set doesn't have a high enough resolution for computer use. You can get real deals on used CRT (picture tube) monitors right now because the market has mostly moved to flat panels. I bought a 19" Gateway on Craig's List for thirty bucks a few weeks back. I've seen smaller ones (15" or 17") as low as ten bucks.

TV has a different resolution than a computer monitor so it will never be as crisp. Is there a sharpness control on your TV?
If so, put it up to the highest number it can go. Short of that I don't know.

You need to tell us what type of tv and how old is it. And, what type of Graphics card are you trying to use to connect to the tv. The question is too broad to give a specific answer that would fix your problem.
