Desperate Housewives TV series is the topic. I haven't watched it, but I've seen previews, heard people who have watched, and saw the preview for the game.
This show is making a bad name for women and maybe even men too.
I am a housewife and I do not appreciate being portrayed as someone who sleeps with the neighbor or gardener or whoever. Women are made to look manipulative, selfish, and like little sluts.
What the h-ell is this country coming to? Why is it cool in this day to cheat and lie with no regards of for anyone but yourself.
Why are women always going around criticizing men and calling them all pigs? Am I the only one bothered by some woman running around in a miniskirt with her cleavage hanging out screaming men suck and only care about sex???
Back to the point I would like to hear all opinions about this Desperate Housewives show.

I have never watched D.H. But its interesting that this and the eroticized celebrity dancing shows are VERY POPULAR with some super conservative males; I kid you not. It may be "legal" way to get some vicarious sexual stimulation, I don't know. I have no religious bias against either type of show, just believe like so much else on TV it is trash. I guess for many "fundie" males it does support their view of females as dim witted, sexual, predatory creatures. I don't suppose THEIR nice little wives go around in short tight skirts with their bosoms hanging out. So its the fundie dudes guilt free version of going to a "t----y" bar without leaving home!

1. I watched about 1/2 hour of the show when it first came on 2 seasons ago. I found it kind of boring and too silly for my taste...but then most of TV is that way today.
2. If you haven't watched it, why don't you sit down and watch an episode, then you can be a critic who happens to know what you are critiqueing. When you criticise something you know nothing about, it makes you seem harsh and a bit idiotic.
3. If you don't watch the show, then what are you getting your panties all in a twist about? It won't offend you if you don't watch it.
4. Why are you generalizing about all women? You should know better than that.
To answer your question: No Desperate Housewives does not disgust me....it bores me...but it doesn't disgust me.

That is my show! Those are my girls! Yeah its nuts but ah mostly its fantasy, hellooooo! I just heard where there is a swingers group that meets in the next town made up of middle class couples who meet in a bar, the guys wear a certain colored shirt so everyone knows who everyone is and they meet at someone's house and do it all night with everybody! Now that's real and that's desperate, spose they go to church on Sunday? Do you have some words for these christian folk too?

i love desperate housewives.
tv shouldnt be about being moral and crap like that - and yea women are made to look less than perfect, but so are the men so quit complaining. If tv shows were the perfect world itd be borng to watch and make us have irrational goals for in our lives

That is what I hear a lot of people say. But It has an affect on people. I think people may try things that are wrong that they see on TV. There is a battle of good and evil in the world. People become desensitized to sex and violence.

I don't beleieve it stereotype all housewives. It's just a show for entertainment just like Young and the Restless and the other soap operas.

I have tried to get into it, but it's so ridiculous that it's hard to. I don't really know what all the hype is about. I do like Grey's Anatomy though. Now there is a good show.

Personally I think it is a mockery of the daytime soaps. And no, it isn't ok to cheat, lie, etc. Sometimes I think life itself is a soap opera.

If you don't like what you see on television - STOP WATCHING IT!
Why should seeing a woman in a miniskirt with her cleavage hanging out bother anyone anyhow? Seems like i'll have to start tuning in and check it out. Thanks for alerting me to this!

I watched two episodes and found it quite boring.
I'm not disgusted, then again I love the show Nip Tuck where everyone is sleeping with everyone
